What is the Difference Between Viagra and Generic Sildenafil?

According to IMS Total Patient Tracker, more than 25 million men have been prescribed Viagra.  Taken only when needed, the “little blue pill” helps increase blood flow to the penis so men can get and keep an erection hard enough for sex.  In fact, four out of five men taking 50mg or 100mg of Viagra have been able to get and keep erections for sex.

Sildenafil is the generic equivalent of Viagra.

How to use Viagra for Best Results

According to the makers of Viagra, there are three things you need to know:

  1. Viagra will not simply cause an erection. You must be in the mood and sexually stimulated for it to work.
  2. There is no need to rush sexual activity because it does take time to work. You may take Viagra up to 4 hours before sexual activity, but it does start working 30-60 minutes after you take it.
  3. It may take more time for Viagra to start working if you take it with a high-fat meal, so you may need to consider what you eat and when you eat.. Note:  You can take Viagra with or without food.
